The 2013 APPEA HSR and Safety Workforce Forum will be held in conjunction with the APPEA National Oil & Gas Safety Conference on Monday 5 August 2013.
The HSR and Safety Workforce Forum is the only safety forum in Australia specifically programmed with oil and gas health and safety representatives (HSRs) in mind. It provides a unique opportunity for HSRs to network, develop their skills and share their own safety experiences, solutions and best practice.
As in previous years, the HSR of the Year Award will be presented at the forum. This award recognises individuals within the Australian oil and gas industry who have been outstanding in their contribution to the health and safety of their fellow workers.

Stand Together for Safety 2013
Stand Together for Safety is a ‘stop work’ safety event held annually across the Australian oil and gas industry, contributing to improved and sustained safety performance. Teams stop work on a designated day to have a dedicated conversation about safety in relation to their workplace. Industry cooperation on this event highlights that safety is not a competitive issue. Collaboration is an effective way of reinforcing that success in safety relies on all parties – managers, supervisors, employees and contractors – working together to bring about significant and sustained improvement.
The fifth official Stand Together for Safety event will roll out through May 2013.
