The APPEA Safety Awards recognise excellence in safety performance and innovation in safety management. Since 1987, these awards have showcased the best the oil and gas industry has to offer, sharing best practice and providing inspiration to the entire industry. In 2009, APPEA conducted a review of the Safety Innovation Award system, aiming to increase the profile of the awards and their accessibility across all levels of the industry. The new and improved model (to launch in 2010) will further enable recognition of ingenuity and creativity in the workplace. All innovations, no matter how big or small, will be showcased. Submissions may be about high level management or system type improvements that affect the whole of an organisation OR they may be about very practical ‘front-line’ innovations, which are usually engineering or people focused. 2010 APPEA Safety Innovation Awards APPEA has now launched its new Safety Innovation Awards model. APPEA is inviting individuals, teams and companies from across the whole of industry to share new initiatives or original solutions to specific safety and health problems. These innovations serve to provide inspiration and will demonstrate how the industry is continuously raising the bar in safety performance. All innovations, no matter how big or small, will be showcased, and companies are not limited in the number of submissions they can enter. Submissions are due by 4 June 2010. Please click on the Information Booklet below for more information. The electronic poster is designed for your use internally, please email it around to your work teams.
