An effective and efficient safety policy and regulatory regime is essential to provide clear and comprehensive requirements for the safety of our workforce, managing the potential for major accident events and safety and health risks, whilst avoiding unnecessary regulation. 

APPEA consults with industry and other key stakeholders to ensure safety policies and regulations for the industry continue to achieve a goal setting legislative regime of a world class calibre that sets clear, practicable and robust requirements in line with community expectations for preventing major accident events and reducing risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
