  • Australian Gas Light Company signs conditional agreement to buy 1500 petajoules of gas over 20 years from the PNG-Australia Gas Pipeline Development Project. AGL also buys a 10% equity in the upstream side of the project from Oil Search Ltd.

  • Woodside Energy-led group approves a $2 billion expansion to the North West Shelf gas Project with the greenlight for construction of a fifth LNG train on Burrup Peninsula with a capacity of 4.2 million tonnes of LNG per year to take the plant capacity to a total of 16 million tonnes a year. It will also involve development of the group’s Angel field in the offshore Carnarvon Basin.
  • Empire Oil & Gas signs a 5-year agreement to sell up to 1000 barrels a day of crude oil trucked from the historic Rough Range field onshore Carnarvon Basin to BP’s Kwinana refinery south of Perth.

  • Origin Energy/Woodside Energy joint venture finds gas in the Black Watch prospect offshore Otway Basin of Victoria. This is followed by a second find in a nearby prospect called Halladale. Both wells drilled from the same location.
