APPEA safety forums and events
Stand Together for Safety
In May 2013, companies across the Australian oil and gas industry are participating in the fifth annual Stand Together for Safety event.
Stand Together for Safety is a stop-work safety event held annually across the Australian oil and gas industry. It provides a designated time for executives and senior managers to discuss safety issues directly with frontline workers.
Stand Together for Safety 2013’s theme is Protecting Your Team: who are you responsible for?
Industry-wide collaboration on this event sends a clear message that safety comes first.
More than 38,000 people participated in the 2012 Stand Together for Safety event. Key messages included ownership, accountability, capability and leadership. Having senior managers visiting sites across Australia reinforces the message that safety leadership must be demonstrated at all levels within an organisation.
