On March 13, APPEA advised that its Conference and exhibition scheduled in Perth for May 2020 is unavoidably postponed. This means the judging and presentation of the 2020 Environment and Safety Excellence Awards will also be impacted.
Postponed
- APPEA advises that the Awards deadline of the 20 March 2020 will be deferred until further notice.
- APPEA is asking members to continue to provide their nominations if they are ready for submission.
- APPEA’s secretariat will keep the submissions on file and revert to nominees

- We understand that many of our industry’s health, safety and environment professionals are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation.
- While it’s important to celebrate excellence and innovation in our industry; the health and welfare of our workforce, contractors and our local communities are our highest priority.

Proactive environment and safety management measures are now embedded into the day-to-day existence of Australia’s innovative oil and gas industry.
APPEA’s Environment and Safety Excellence Awards aim to reflect and support the safety and environmental principles and leadership of the Australian oil and gas industry by highlighting outstanding examples of performance.
A company that wins an APPEA Safety or Environment Award will be a visible example of these principles being “lived” and serve as a role model for others in the industry.
