Bcf Billion Cubic Feet (of gas)
Boe Barrels of Oil Equivalent. The barrel of oil equivalent (BOE) is a unit of energy approximate equal to the energy released by burning one barrel (158.9873 litres) of crude oil.
CO2-e Carbon dioxide equivalent
CSG Coal seam gas
FEED Front End Engineering and Design. The FEED is a decision point in an LNG project and covers the basic engineering after the conceptual study. The FEED design focuses on the technical requirements of a project.
GA Geoscience Austalia
Hydrocarbons Organic compounds consisting entirely of hydrogen and carbon. Hydrocarbons are the principal constituents of oil and natural gas.
LNG Liquefied natural gas
Methane Primary component of Natural gas. Methane is a Hydrocarbon, which is a family of molecules consisting entirely of hydrogen and carbon. Methane is one carbon molecule surrounded by four hydrogen molecules (CH4).
Mtpa Million tonnes per annum (of LNG)
PRRT Petroleum resource rent tax
Permeability The degree to which gas or fluids can move through a porous material, such as rocks.
Petroleum Liquid, gaseous and solid hydrocarbons, including oil, natural gas, gas condensate, ethane, propane, butane and pentane.
Plugged and abandoned When all the reservoir and hihg-pressure zones in a well are sealed with cement so that no fluid can escape.
Proven and probable reserves (2P) Proven reserves plus reserves that are deemed probable (at least 50 per cent likely) to be commercially recoverable. Also known as 2P or P50 reserves.
Proven reserves (1P) Quantities of petroleum that can be estimated with reasonable certainty (at least 90 per cent) to be commercially recoverable. Also known as 1P or P90 reserves.
Proven, probable and possible reserves (3P) Proven and probable reserves plus reserves that are deemed possible (at least 10 per cent likely) to be commercially recoverable. Also known as 3P or P10 reserves.
RET Renewable energy target
Reservoir A rock or geological formation that holds petroleum withinthe pore spaces between individual grains.
